real estate National City, California. National City is the second oldest city in San Diego County. The city's Victorian heritage is one of its more important assets. Incorporated on September 17, 1887, National City was originally part of the El Rancho de la Nacion, which was purchased in 1868 by Frank Kimball and his brothers Warren and Levi. They cleared lands, built roads, and brought the railroad to the City. Today, National City is deeply involved in the growth of their community. No matter what age a resident is, there are services that see to the needs of the whole area. National City is deeply involved in education. There are many opportunities available in National City. For the younger area citizens the collaboration of Southwestern College and San Diego State University in establishing educational facilities in National City has become a blessing and continues to help fill the area. The Recreation Division provides programs at six recreation centers, nine schools, an Olympic-sized pool, and two senior citizen centers. Over twenty different instruction classes are offered in athletics, dance, and crafts at the various centers. The Parks and Recreation offers a diverse year-round program of activities for all ages.
